How it works
Velodach is the Swiss accommodation directory for cyclists and hikers of all ages.
As a member, you agree to host registered travelers from Velodach for free upon request. In return, you have access to the addresses of other members for accommodation – all based on the principle of reciprocity.
Our principle: If you are willing to offer a sleeping place, you also have the right to take advantage of the offer yourself.
Velodach is a private, non-profit organization promoting environmentally friendly travel. Our services are maintained through volunteer work.
The annual membership fee is CHF / € 20. This includes online access and the address directory as a PDF. If you register in October or later, the current year is free. The updated address directory (PDF) is published every spring.
As a host, you define your personal accommodation offer according to your possibilities. It should meet the following requirements:
Basically, a warm, dry corner with a minimum area of 2 x 1 m with a sleeping mat, a sofa, a mattress, or a bed is sufficient. A lawn area in the garden for a tent provided or brought by the guest is also an option. Comfort is not the top priority. However, your guest will certainly appreciate a warm shower. If you want to stay with others, you should, whenever possible, inquire at least one day in advance whether you are welcome on the desired day. A sleeping bag (inner sleeping bag) should be included in your travel luggage. A free dinner or breakfast is not a given. It is best for the guest and host to discuss this together in advance.
Cancellation of membership is generally possible at any time. Please note that this is a binding and fee-based membership, and the membership fee is due each January.
